Eligibility for the Assistant Professor in English
| Educational Qualification | Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s degree in the relevant subject. Candidates for all the above posts must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professors conducted by UGC/CSIR, or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET. However, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in the relevant subject in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph. D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from NET/SET. In case candidates having passed the said Eligibility Test are not available, or are not found suitable, candidates fulfilling all other conditions would be considered for appointment on purely temporary basis till the end of the academic year. All other requirements as prescribed by UGC, Goa University and Directorate of Higher Education (DHE). |
