The Food Safety Mitra Scheme, established by FSSAI, seeks to empower individuals possessing an entrepreneurial mindset to attain certification as licensing and registration professionals. Following comprehensive training, these individuals subsequently evolve into self-employed, last-mile solution providers catering to the needs of FBOs.
Food Safety Mitra Responsibilities
| Filing of new application for License/Registration | Prepare and submit applications for new licenses or registrations. Ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete. Facilitate the application process with relevant authorities. |
| Further online correspondence regarding queries raised by Authorities | Engage in ongoing online communication to address queries raised by regulatory authorities. Provide necessary information and clarification in a timely manner. Maintain a proactive approach to resolve any issues raised during the review process. |
| Filing application for modification of License/Registration | Initiate and manage the application process for any necessary modifications to existing licenses or registrations. Ensure that all modifications comply with relevant regulations. |

Food Safety Digital Mitra Eligibility
To join or become Food Safety Mitra, there are some eligibility criteria which needs to be fulfilled by the applicant.
| Age Criteria | Candidates should fall within the age range of 21 to 60 years. |
| Educational Qualification | A Bachelors Degree from a Recognized University is a prerequisite. |
| Computer Proficiency | Demonstrated working knowledge of computers, the internet, and related technologies. |
| FSSAI Knowledge | Proficiency in understanding and applying the provisions of the FSSAI Act, along with the associated Rules and Regulations. |

Apply Food Safety Mitra FSSAI
Registration on FSM Website: Begin by registering on the Food Safety Mitra (FSM) website.
Online Training: Upon being shortlisted, successfully complete the prescribed online training.
Computer-Based Test (CBT): After completing the training, appear for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at one of the specified test centers.
Assessment Completion: Upon successfully completing the assessment, a Digital Mitra Certificate will be issued.
Certificate Renewal: Renew the Digital Mitra Certificate every two years to maintain active status.
Registration Fee Payment: Following successful registration, candidates are obligated to submit a registration fee of ₹500/- to access training and the online assessment.
Implementation of Online Assessment Exam: The introduction of an Online Assessment Exam is now part of the process.
Exam Criteria: The exam is graded out of 100 marks, with candidates required to attain a minimum of 75 marks to pass. Failure necessitates a repayment of the ₹500/- registration fee, along with a mandatory re-enrollment for training and assessment.
Advanced Assessment for Registered Candidates: Candidates who have completed the training module and already paid the registration fees can opt for the online assessment.
Security Deposit Requirement: Upon successfully passing the exam, candidates are mandated to pay a security deposit of ₹5000/-.
Certificate Issuance Process: Post-payment of the security deposit and approval from the respective regional offices, candidates can download their certificates.
